Help Be Their Support

Angelina County folks have always had a passion for helping others in our community. Four years ago I was asked to be a part of the Volunteer Services Council for Lufkin State Supported Living Center. The LSSLC was opened in 1962 and is currently home to over 300 individuals with both mental and physical disabilities. It remains the 4th largest employer of Angelina County with 1200 employees in various fields. Servicing over 28 counties in the region, it is one of the largest facilities pr

oviding for this population, and that warrants the support of us all.

Through this position I have been tasked with helping the LSSLC procure donations through various means. One of our largest events happening Saturday June 9th, 2018, is the 36th Annual Sunshine Golf Tournament hosted by Crown Colony.

Along with the tournament, we hold a gun raffle and accept donations. This is a fun way for members in our community to get together for a great cause. The gun raffle this year will be for the following:

Ruger American .22 Bolt Action
