Angelina Benefit Rodeo

This week from the 26th - 29th marks the 71st year for the Angelina Benefit Rodeo. From Mutton Bustin' to Bull Riding, cowboys and cowgirls will come from all over to compete for the buckles and prizes. Rated one of the top 5 Mid-size Rodeos in the nation, over 18,000 people will file in to George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center. Most individuals in attendance don't know what the proceeds go towards.The Lufkin Lions Club, with the help of community leaders, help organize the event every year. The proceeds from the raffles and donations during this event go to the State Supported Living Center. Over the years several million dollars have been raised for the SSLC. Also, every night of the event clients from SSLC volunteer by handing out programs and taking tickets.
